To gather a full understanding of the experience of health and care services during the Covid-19 outbreak, over a period over of 12 weeks (end of May to end of August 2020) Healthwatch Calderdale and partners used a variety of different engagement approaches and tools including a survey and virtual focus groups to talk to people living and working in Calderdale.

Hypermobility syndromes

Healthwatch Calderdale has now published its Hypermobility Syndromes report. We had over 250 responses to the survey, thank you to everybody who took part.

The purpose of our project was to collect the voices of adults with hypermobility syndromes in Yorkshire and the Humber in order to develop an understanding of their health and social care experiences. There was also an opportunity for participants to tell us anything else that they felt was relevant to their experience of their condition.

Health and care leaders, frontline health and care staff, patient groups and experts came together to produce a ten-year plan. It was published in January 2019 and aims to transform the health service over the next 10 years into one that is fit for the future, sustainable and where taxpayers’ investment is used effectively.
