  • This form is an initial expression of interest for the Healthwatcher volunteering role. All our volunteering roles require further information on our full registration form. On this we collect other information including emergency contact numbers and require referees for each role. If you are under 18 we will also need consent, at a later date to volunteer, from a parent or guardian.

Ever thought about being a volunteer?

Are you someone who’s friendly and approachable and can work as part of a team?

Is it important to you to give good customer service and support other to people to make positive changes and have their voice heard? Do you enjoy learning new things? Could you support Healthwatch Kirklees by sharing your skills and enthusiasm?

Do you have a few hours or some spare time to share to help to make positive changes in your local area?

Here at Healthwatch Calderdale, we have volunteer support with;

General office tasks and additional support for our advocacy service. Administrative support, data entry, proof-reading, and analyzing information. Gathering feedback on health and social care services, survey collection, and information sharing.

We share some volunteers with Healthwatch Kirklees who volunteer across both patches.

It is essential for us at Healthwatch that staff and volunteers we work together with are honest and transparent. It is also really important that staff and volunteers are polite and friendly and make all individuals we speak to, or who contact us feel comfortable and valued. We want every voice to count.


Healthwatch Kirklees needs you to be our eyes and ears in the community. We’re recruiting ‘Healthwatchers’ to make sure we are finding out as much about public opinion as we can. We need volunteers to go out in to their communities and talk to their family and friends to gather comments about their experience of using health and social care services.  We want to hear about things that are good and things which could work better.

This role is very flexible and you don’t need to commit a lot of time to doing this.

What is an online Feedback collector?

As an online feedback collector, your role will be to collect feedback about people’s experiences of health and social care services that has been left online.

Healthwatch Kirklees have a legal right to carry out Enter & View visits to any publicly funded health or social care service.  This includes residential/nursing homes, day care services, GP practices and hospital wards.

We recruit and train Authorised Representatives as volunteers who will carry out the Enter and View visits on behalf of Healthwatch Kirklees.  The Authorised Representatives spend time talking to people who use and work in the service they are visiting, then write a report with recommendations where required.  Authorised Representatives are fully supported by staff from the Healthwatch Kirklees team.

Healthwatch Calderdale is looking for a volunteer to help support staff with its NHS complaints advocacy service. We need volunteers to support Healthwatch Calderdale staff to make sure people get the right advice and support at the right time, to answer questions people might have about the service or complaints process and to help people understand what the NHS complaints process can achieve. A  data entry and media support volunteer may help to edit or design content for videos or social media messages to help share information or promote feedback of health and social care services in Kirklees or Calderdale. You may help with data entry on our website or in house database.
