Calderdale Speech Language and Communication Pathway
Calderdale’s Starting Well Board has commissioned work to improve the shared understanding of how everyone in Calderdale contributes to the Speech Language and Communication (SLC) development of all our children and families, from their earliest moments through to adulthood. This is because successful SLC is a significant factor in improving the lives and futures of children and their families and makes the biggest difference in closing the gaps in inequalities.
The aim of this work is to establish a clear and consistently understood pathway that provides appropriate advice and support at universal, targeted, and specialist levels.
Because this work is far-reaching, they are at this point focusing on the early years (0-5years) and this is being led from within the Early Years Strategy Board.
Please find a link below to the survey for Parents/Carers and Professionals/other stakeholders across the Borough, to help us to gain an insight into what people currently understand of Speech Language, and Communication as well as the services and support available from pre-birth to 25years.
