Calderdale Safeguarding week 9 – 15 October

This year partners from across West Yorkshire are coming together for the first ever regional Safeguarding Week – to raise awareness of
the issues and the role we all have protecting vulnerable children and adults.

The programme below details the activity, events and training throughout the week in venues all over Calderdale for members of the public and staff that work in safeguarding children and adults at risk.

The week starts with a launch event at the MBi Shay Stadium, Halifax, Monday 9 October, with key note speeches from the Chairs of the Adults and Children Safeguarding Boards, West Yorkshire Police, Calderdale MBC, Calderdale Commissioning Group and includes entertainment from Magpie Movers and children from local schools. There is also a ‘marketplace’ style event where organisations will meet and talk about the services they offer and workshops on a range of subjects.
