Long wait to be told 'no'

I called here looking for a dentist as I was getting nowhere locally. I had a swollen cheek from tooth pain. I called, answered loads of questions over the phone and was told it wasn't urgent so I had to just find a dentist locally.
There are none registering patients and I lost a place at mine when it went private and I cannot afford private.
A few days later I had an abscess, went to A&E and they had to deal with it. I'd love to know how many people go to A&E for dental work because they are told no by every other service who is meant to do it.
