Ward 5 - understaffed and in need of upkeep
My mum was admitted to the ward and stayed there for several days. It was a very depressing place to be and in desperate need of some repair and upkeep. She was placed in a tiny box room with no TV and the blinds on the small window would not open so she was left to stare at the 4 shabby walls which were depressing and just didn't feel like a nice environment to be in to recuperate. I often heard other patients asking for help and they were told to wait. The staff were clearly always busy and I always witnessed them working very hard so I'm not saying they were ignoring patients but the ward was clearly understaffed.
