Healthwatch was asked by West Yorkshire and Harrogate health services to engage with patients, carers and the wider public.

We were asked to find out more about what people thought about possible new ways of providing the care that they need when they have a stroke or care for someone who has.

The engagement was aimed at people who have experienced a stroke but did include methods to capture the views of the wider public also.

Our work will focus on the whole stroke pathway from preventing it happening in the first place, the first 72 hours urgent care and community support to help people to make the best recovery possible.
