Long wait for appointments
Appointments are available online 3 weeks ahead - useful if you know you are going to be unwell. Most of us don't! Unable to see GP of your choice at shorter notice. This makes for quite a number of failed to attend events. Bad for GPs - no continuity of care of patient. They've no adopted a system where you describe your system to a non-health care person who decides the urgency of your problem (it'll be key words and if you don't know them, you'll never see a doctor or have a conversation with them) . Even 'expert patients' are amateurs, they are not health care professionals and are unlikely to know what symptoms to watch for in any given condition. So having minimally trained reception staff deciding how ill one is, is dreadful and does not provide the safety net of health care which GP surgeries are meant to provide.
