The incompetence of opcare

This has to be the most shocking service provided it was bad when still nhs wheelchair services but this shambles couldn't operate a toy never mind messing with people's lives that depend on wheelchairs

Waiting List

December 2, 2016
My daughter had hip surgery this year in May and we managed to call somebody out to come and re adjust the chair so she can use it. The gentleman who came in August was new worker and adjusted the wheelchair and said he will put her name down on the waiting list and needs reassessing for new wheelchair and to keep an eye on any markings under her knee. Since August we Hv not heard from anybody until Woodbank school contacted them end of November to come and see my child ASAP at school. They came and adjusted it but we still don't no when and where we are on the Waiting list. The wheelchair is not suitable as my child has had surgery and has outgrown the wheelchair and is upset in the chair and is getting markings. We only use her chair to and from school. I can't take her out any where due to her being uncomfortable and upset.

Outstanding service

September 30, 2016
Thank goodness we have a new Operations Manager now at Elland called Wayne Lunn.
Personally i cannot thank him enough for the support and help he has given me over the last month, helping to make sure my needs are met after arranging for a fabulous Neuro OT called Sara that understood my needs perfectly. She is very caring, supportive and knowledgeable.
They both went over and above to help me, and if anyone needs support and understanding and is unhappy should not hesitate or feel that they cannot approach Wayne as he will definitely help if he can.
I know there have been problems in the past as i can appreciate the problems as it has happened to me too with the waiting times etc, BUT that is in the past thank fully and i am sure that now. this service in time will grow and become outstanding.
Thank you Wayne and Sara

Waiting times

September 7, 2016
Someone commented in an earlier post they got their chair in 6 months and Service better than nhs. Not the case. I have been waiting 12 months and there are others the same. Not even been assessed yet. Obviously the person was a member of the user group and maybe that's why they received preferential treatment!!

Not good not bad

August 17, 2016
Had better service when all NHS had worse service when all NHS. Only real difference is being able to actually talk to someone. Waiting times far too long. Especially when emergency

Urgent Review of Wheelchair

August 8, 2016
Supposedly our son is on an urgent list for him to be reviewed in his existing wheelchair, which he has had since he has been 6 - he is now 9 and needs a bigger wheelchair due to a growth spurt. I am fuming that someone I know has been given a wheelchair for a child that can bleeding walk, this is an absolute joke - our son depends on his wheelchair, as he can't walk long distances in his wheelchair and we still haven't heard anything about when he will be seen, even though he apparently is on the urgent list. If this doesn't get resolved soon, we will be taking it to the papers, as no children should have to wait for the next wheelchair up that they need, this will cause posture problems for our children and cause more damage than what they should need !!
