Calder Community Practice

Getting seen was ok, but I needed to be referred and when I chased that up the hospital said they hadn't received a referral. I had to call again and asked for it to be done. That meant delays which is frustrating and a worry.
I asked to be sent to Bury or Rochdale as I live nearer that way, but I ended up at Halifax. I went just so I didn't have more delays.

I get a different GP every time and they don't know my history, so I have to explain everything again.
Also I cant get appointments to have my feet done like I used to.

I phoned at 8am this morning and was offered an appointment at 9.30am, that was too early for me so I was offered one for 3.15pm.

I rang in January stating that my son has had serous anxiety and panic attacks since having covid and I got offered a telephone appointment for that day 2 months on and I’m still waiting for said telephone call. In the end I rang 111 where they got me an appointment with the doctors again a telephone one and guess what still havnt had that either.

Cheryl at CCP is exceptional, caring, proffesional, friendly and thorough.
Her manner at the practice is beyond exceptional and her caring approach is constant and completely natural, Cheryl is the best Doctors receptionist we have ever had and she is always compassionate and understanding doing her upmost to assist the patients.

Calder Community Practice have always been fantastic. The reception and admin team have helped me numerous times and sorted out medications and problems with appointments etc. I have never had any needs to complain and I am very grateful for their efficiency and helpfulness.

At my last appointment, patients had been booked in from 8.45am when the nurse would not arrive until 9am. The treatment I received triggered PTSD, for which I required trauma counselling. I was told test results would take 3-4 weeks and the actual wait was 8-10 weeks. I found this out for myself when the practice gave me a hospital phone number in error to chase the results myself. I was told results would come by letter and they actually came by text. Had to chase my complaint about all this repeatedly: it is now over 4 months since the incident and it is still not completely resolved. I will never use this practice again for any reason.
